Reflecting on 2006

Since we are about to embark on a new year I wanted us to reflect on 2006 and see just what did we accomplish this year? I know for me it has been health wise a very stressful year but it has not gone without its successes either.
TO make goals for ourselves for 2007 we must look at what we did in 2006. I know one of my goals I wanted was to be published in a mainstream magazine/idea book. Which I had a small victory for 2006 for a local well I say local it is national in the south east Hobby lobby magazine and several online magazines. I did get published in scrapbook trends but it wont be out till 2007.. so I guess I really cant list that for 06 can I? Alot of people ask how did you reach this goal. There are several things that have to be done and realistically have to be done if this is what you want to do. FIRST thing is look at your photography. Think like a magazine. when you look at the photos on the scrapbook pages what do you see. You see the PERSON or the focal image and THATS IT. If you look at your photos and you see clutter in the background a wide angle that shows laundry, access furniture, alot of other people that have nothign to do with the theme of the photo its out of focus or at a bad angle then your starting out with unpublishable. Now alot of you may argue with me cuz yes there are calls out there for pages with NON Perfect photos but lets face it people. grab you a scrapbooking magazine.. what do you see in the photos.. I rest my case. I made a point to get a better camera and work on my photography skills. I asked lots of questions and looked at the people that were being published. what were they doing that I wasnt.
Follow your own method.. In scrapping develop your own style and polish it. I did this by getting someone I really respect that is an amazing scrapper/artist and get her to critique my work. Most people will be glad to do this but be warned. YOU MUST be prepared for the good and the bad. Remember YOU ASKED to get help so get on your big girl panties and deal with the constructive criticism or either DONT ASK. By doing this I was able to pick up those little tips that help you get the edge on your layouts to make them polished and more noticeable. You have to make your work stand out from the other 500 that are sent in every month.
Watch for the pub calls and submit regularly. Just because you are turned down once KEEP TRYING dont give up. ALot of times they may like your work but they want to see that you can continually give them quality work. WHY ELSE do you see the same people over and over in the magazines.. They want dependable people they can call and say I need one more page that is on this subject WHat do you have... that is the reality of it people. Now not all magazines are this way but most of them are. At least what I have seen. The more you scrap and look around at your personal goals and the more you try to focus on them the easier it will get.
Start with baby steps. Get published on a local front first at a local scrapbook store or an online design team. It will help you get practise and get the motivation to get those pages done and also have you working with the latest greatest product. Sorry but it is hard to get published with last years paper. Manufacturers want to sell what they are spending their money to produce RIGHT NOW. so you need to use whats hot. what you see advertising. say if in one magazine you never see a certain brand advertise... DONt use primarily that brand on your page to submit. look through the magazine what products are the sponsors and what products are in the ads. Use primarily that product. You always scrap a season ahead also.. It is crazy to do but that is what is published. Magazines are always a month ahead.
NOW I AM NOT AN EXPERT by any means on this. THese are just the tips I have picked up along the way to try to accomplish my goals. I thought it may make someone else stop and look at their work and re evaluate what they are doing and help them attain their goals.
I also spent alot more time with my family in 2006. Whether I wanted to or not haha just kidding. I stayed sick in 2006 between kidneys and female issues which they think caused all the other problems it is amazing what ones ovaries can cause to go wrong with the rest of your body. Im really really trying to focus on getting healthy in 2007. Not only for me but for my family. Bella needs me here with her and John needs me to help him raise her. WE got into this marriage together and we planned our daughter toghether.. so I want us to raise her the same way. Together. so I gotta get healthy. Whatever it takes.. if it is running my butt up and down the road every day with a big old mean dog chasing me then fine Ill have to do that. If it is juicing all the nasty veggies I hate and holding my nose and swallowing them hard.. then I guess that is what I will have to do. BUT I have to get healthy for all of our sakes. 2006 was rough on us physically mentally and still financially so we have to do this for all those reasons.
Get my baby FULLY POTTY TRAINED. WHy is this the hardest thing about being 3. WE have good days we have bad days. Bless her heart. She just is so busy with her life and her day that taking 2 minutes to potty is just such a waste of her time. IF we ever get FULLY potty trained Im gonna jump for joy! I did accomplish in 2006 getting her out of the pullups into big girl panties. Now to just keep em dry that will be for 07 haha!

I made some mistakes in 06 alot of them. Don't we all. BUt Im learning from them. Im growing from them and trying not to make the same ones again. Isn't that what it is all about? I have made alot of new friends that I love to pieces in 06 and I thank God for them. I plan to spend more time with them and at church and with my family in 07. I have alot of goals to reach and a few are harder alot harder than the goals I set for 06 but I will try hard to reach them. I have to set a plan in action and get on it one by one. I hope you can reflect in the coming days on your 06 and see just what you have accomplished and what maybe you need to work on. It feels so good to see it on paper and to mark somethign off your list as complete. BUT you must write downt he ones that didnt work out so well to that way we stay realistic. CELEBRATE your victorys learn from your mistakes and try to over come them. That is all we can do right?

Happy to be home... but I feel sorry for whomever decides to pick up trash in Mendenhall Mississippi. If yall are out and see wal mart bags and target bags on the side of the road.. .DONT PICK EM UP! Or if you do DONT LOOK INSIDE! I got sick all the way home yesterday. I took my medicine and thought i had eaten enough. WELL... WRONG. we got almost to Mendenhall and here we go. JOhn did the jump a lane cross traffic wheel sideways into a sideroad kick the door open and scream DONT GET IT IN THE CAR as I hurled into a wal mart bag. Bella is screaming WHY YOU GOIN YUCKY MOMMY YOU SICK? YOU NOT FEEL GOOD? DID YOU EAT SOMETHING? MOMMY YOU SICK? MOMMY .. MOMMY MOMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Huh huh? are ya? Im going blah Im ok blahh ha ha Bella its ok blahhh dont cry mommys fine blahhhhh.
He finally found a gas station open and pulled in I guess the little HE SHE that was running it could tell houston we have a problem he helped us get inside to the bathroom and clean me up. It was horrible im telling you. I was sooo embarrassed. But we survived and I got home passed out and felt much better today. (Thank you GOD)
I have another dr appt. tomorrow so we can see what my test results are and let him check my kidney function and stuff. IM pretty sure it was the fact I didnt eat enough witha ll that was going on Christmas morning. You have to eat good and I dont mean just a donut you have to eat like a meal or you get sick with this stupid stuff.
Anywho.. we went to target because they had those cubes on sale for 20 bucks so I got me 4 more cuz John had me one under the tree and I had bought one earlier with a gift certificate we had from something I cant remember now... so now I have 6 I need 2 more but they didnt have the one I wanted so we are going to try another target tomorrow. IF THEY dont have it I will ahve to order it online and I DONT want to cuz the shipping will be awful cuz them thangs are HEAVY! BUt they look soooo cool! I am so excited to get my scrap room fixed all pretty. My father in law totally surprised me I mean knocked me off my feet surprised me with another one of the stamp shelves like he made me last year. I am so happy about it! NOW I can put all my paint up there on the bottom shelves and the other stamps I have at the top. I kept joking that I needed to go buy more stamps so I could fill it up hahahaha! I am so proud of it.
Every one seemed to enjoy their home made gifts that I had gotten to make. I still have some things I didnt get done but Im exhausted. My mom came today with the stuff that wouldnt fit in our car and to help watch Bella while I go for this scan tomorrow and dr appt. well I need to go crash IM exhausted. Yall take care. Merry Christmas

Fa la la la laaaa ITS FREAKIN COLD in Mississippi people. Just in case yall didn't know. IM READY TO GO HOME! Where it is warm. TO MY OWN BED. IN MY OWN HOUSE. I have had almost enough holiday joy to last till next year. I hate temp drops. Any one that knows anything about lupus or arthritic conditions knows that temp drops mean OW(and makes me to say the least grumpy and lackin in holiday joy .(add kidney issues to that and you have pure hell in a prescription bottle) I feel like i am 90 and can't move. Its raining too. falalalalaa Bella is so full of energy and excitement and cannot wait till santa brings her gifts.... I cant wait either cuz then WE GET TO GO HOME! I love my family. I love Johns family BUT I REALLY THINK I COULD LOVE THEM BETTER IN ALABAMA right now. Im ready to TIME warp back to alabama...We did have a great time while we have been here. We had fun at Liz's, bella played with the boys and chased the rat I mean ferret all over the place.. when it wasnt busy doing a pulitzer prize non parachute jump onto the dog, waldo's back WHOM was not appreciative in the least.... seeing if it could hold on for 8 seconds as the terrified as hell dog goes barrelling through the house trying to figure out what the heck just fell out of the sky and landed on his back.. This dog is like 900 years old and is deaf by the way... which is good cuz he cant hear daisy the rat I mean ferret screaming YIPPEKIYAAAA *&^^^^((**** as she bronco rides his back. That was redneck entertainment people and EVEN MORE FUN on darvocet Im telling you.
we went last night to my brothers house and had THE BEST christmas meal of all times. MY ABSOLUTE most favorite thing IN THE WORLD stuffed bell peppers but NOT JUST ANY stuffed bell peppers but My brothers stuffed bell peppers. MAN them thangs are good. IF I HAD KNOWN we were having them Id have woke bellas butt up earlier and drug her even more grumpy self over to have them, but that is ok cuz ON MAMA Time we had to wait a half hour anyway. (yall who dont know my mother will soon learn the woman is NEVER on time for anything in her life will be late when the lord comes back cuz she would be scared her shoes werent matching her outfit or have to "run a comb through her hair" (?) sounds like something done to ones lawn not a grooming technique if you ask me (love you mom) and IT held up my eating process so I was not pleased. BUT no one suffered much loss.
They have the knew hell hound marlee who is cute as can be she is a shit zoo (mama pick up your jaw I SAID ZOO on the end of it I know your forehead just hit the computer screen witha bolt cuz You figure someone in the family just saw me say SHIT ZOO online and you think I will burn for it but ma it will be ok I promise cuz that is REALLY the kinda dog it is...) Bella kept asking if it had eyes...
cuz it is like a little dust mop.house shoe looking thing... And all it's hair is in its face and you cannot literally see its eyes.. she would examine it in every direction tyring to figure out which way was the front on it and then just shrug. THE little dog is so stinkin cute though I must tell y a. Taz (their spitz hey ma I SAID SPITZ that is reallly what kind of dog it is too) didnt seem to appreciate her much but he tolerated her living in his space a little bit. I think he is happy to have someone else for my brother to terrorize besides him. Bella had a great time and got a ton of toys as usual NO not spoiled at all. She had a great time touching EVERY SINGLE one of Aunt karens hallmark limited edition ornaments that play music and do all kinda crapp that I could never replace if she broke. My heart kept switching sides as she played them each. BUt she did have a grand time. We got the coolest gift from them. a fire pit which means WE CAN SET STUFF ON FIRE NOW hehehehe beware fellow alabamians we have fire pit. Our weekends will consist of seeing now JUST how much you can burn and how hi the flame can get before one calls the fire department.... in the city limits when there is a burn ban DO NOT FEAR we HAVE A FIRE PIT now. We are way tooo excited about this we have a beautiful fire place which we love BUT CANNOT USE because our child cannot breathe when we do SO NOW we can use this outside!!! I know John has wanted one for so long and I have to say IT iS ROCKIN COOL! It is the coolest thing ever!!!! The down side... the company shipped the wrong one so we have to wait to make fire cuz we have to send this one back and get the way even cooler one that they originally paid to much for, I mean got, cuz they ripped em off by 150 bucks and iF You know us .....THEN YOU KNOW Oh heck no... that aint gonna happen!!! WE shall declare war against that company and get the one we are supposed to , a refund or a even better fire makin pit by gosh.....so we have a cease fire (hahahaha get it Cease FIRE) in progress until the correct one arrives... THEREFORE yall are all still safe for now.. step away from the fire extinguishers. BUT BE WARNED it is gonna happen soon hehehehhee.
My mom gave me a BEAUTIFUL crispy un named forthe main reason... cuz my husband dont need to know ,sum of money for me to spend on scrapbook stuff! (it had a note saying this is to be used on scrapbook stuff ONLY!!!! I SAVED IT!!) SO YALL BEWARE Tuesday I shall be armed with cash! Yeah she gave me double too cuz my birthday is Jan 1st ( I will pause so you all can write that down cuz I KNOW you will not want to forget that and all the things that were on my christmas list I didnt get I will be sure to let you know ... so you can get the appropriate gifts hehehehhee )
I really am happy mama did that cuz I have a few things I must have and we spent the last of our money time warping to Mississippi for the holiday... SO NOW NOTHING stands in my way but mileage. Well Bella is nestled all snug in bed for the moment and IM SURE she will be up to see if the fat dude in red has come to bombard her with THE TON OF TOYS I suspect that is in the living room as we speak, guarded by a short loveable yet determined grandma who is armed with a kodak easy share. I saw her camped out on the couch so she wouldnt miss the grand entrance of mini me. BY THE WAY stay tuned tomorrow to hear the tale of how my mother is also NOW ARMED with a digital camera.... THIS MY FRIENDS is gonna be an adventure ( I will explain more later but if you ever remember me telling you about my mom and the computer,,, when she received a notable spam email about certain ughmmm embelishments to help endow a man.and she couldnt figure out WHY ON EARTH someone would dare send her such a thing cuz she is a good christian woman and such garbage would never be acceptable for her to see better yet read (yet she read the entire email to me over the phone spelling the words she considered ugly instead of saying them cuz that is not NEAR as bad and god will not write that down in his big book if you spell it instead of say them) ..... YOU WILL think this is freakin hysterical I PROMISE!) STAY tuned we are on our way home tomorrow and I WILL HAVE a ton of photos to bombard and bore you to tears with.... still wishin I had the ferret /waldo rodeo on film for yall to see that ws priceless. I am on my mother in law (whom I love dearly but hate this freaking laptop she has.sorry mom it is more useful as a boat anchor we need to get you a better computer and if this is hi speed internet teh squirrels need to run faster on that little wheel cuz this is taking for flippin ever to load.... lord help us all... I know i forget where we are at... nowhereville yes I lived here for 34 years I remember this place but we live in the big there city of MOBILE now and got spoiled to finer things in life like.... HI SPEED INTERNET. I feel like we time warped.
SO MERRY CHRISTMAS YALL and thank GOD we are going home tomorrow and remember to Pray for my nephew Adam... He will have the pleasure of teaching my mom how to work her new digital camera........ He will hate us all forever Im sure.but he will receive a huge shiny crown in heaven just for this task i PROMISE YOUR ON THE GOOD LIST DUDE! MUAH!

Shhhh! it's a surprise.

I made this little mini book for my hubby. He is so cute. I think he will enjoy it.
Mind you it is not pub quality just a happy thing I did and spur of the moment, 3 hours total little book from scratch. I get asked all the time How I make these little books and they are SOOOOO SIMPLE you would just SOOOO slap yourself silly thinkin' its hard! SO here are the instructions.. Hope they make sense:

You take a sheet of chipboard like the kind that comes with the 12 x 12 packs of paper or on the back of the scrap pads. I get them in shipments sometimes to when they dont want my paper to bend. I save them just for this! Cut you a 6 wide by 12 strip. Then cut it in half so you have 2, 6 x 6 pieces. Cut you a sheet of paper you want to cover it with... 7 x 7 and wrap it over like a present (make sense you with me so far? (i use redline to adhere the paper to the chipboard so it will stick good especially if it is like basic grey or thick paper like cosmo cricket which is what I used here)


Take you 2 sheets of cardstock in coordinating colors or the same color. cut them in half (6 x 12 strip) then trim off an inch to make it 5 x 11 (does that make sense? EACH SHEET) fold it in half so it is like a little book (i ussually will trim the edge just a little more when I fold it over so the middle ones dont stick out but I do it after I bind the book... so it is even make sense?) (yess stack them all together and fold) I then take my handy dandy cropodile thing that is the best thing since sliced bread. EVAH!!!! Use the little hole punch and make it where its as far as it will go in length. punch you a hole as far in the crease going up and down on both sides up and down .... so you have 2 holes. (you can do all the sheets at one time should be 4) Then I take ribbon and start on the inside go in one hole out the other and then even it up then go BACK THROUGH the opposite holes again. Then tie on the outside in a little bow. Take your chipboard you covered... Glue the cover on the front of the book and on the back of the book (I use redline adhesive and I dont get stengy with it I use alot so it will hold up and be sure you want it where you stick it cuz it will be a mess if you have to pull it up.. YOu may wanna try it with some removeable adhesive first time then use the redline)


I like to then add a sheet of coordinating patterned paper and cover over the inside where the cover is glued to it so it is a smooth line and all pretty (makes it a little stronger too) OK now here is the one I made maybe it will make sense now.


I used the cosmo cricket jitterbug line and just a bunch of assorted scrap crapp i have in my scrap room to go on it. I didnt make it really fancy its kinda simple but they are so cute to give as little happys! I know they make me happy! what about you? I made a little christmas one and gave it to my friend Katrina... I hope she likes it. She seemed to. SOrry I didnt scan that one. Well I need to go finish washing clothes and get finished packing. we are headed out to the in laws for christmas. Yall have a merry christmas! I am sure I will be checkin in on yall! scrap scrap scrap WRAP WRAP WRAP AHHHHH!

I have been scrappin my heart out folks. getting these last minute Christmas gifts made. DONT EVER GET SICK BEFORE CHRISTMAS it ain't fun catching up IM TELLIN YA! BEtween that and the 5 Layouts I gotta do for stm and the layouts I gotta do for Ics Im about to totally wig. BUT LOOK AT THIS SNEAK PEAK at the christmas gift I made my sister In law (my brothers wife NO LIZ THIS ISNT YOURS hehehe sorry) Karen probably won't look at my blog before christmas so Im safe showing it hehehe. IF she does look by gosh YOU BETTER ACT SURPRISED when you open that blame box!!! anyway here is a peak for yall.

That is just a peak. I dont have any more photos of the doggys so I didnt put them in.. it is a chipboard book by maya road (LOVE THESE) I got it from SCRAPPERS BLISS. A while back to make a different book with but ended up making this instead which it was perfect for. Karen loves her furr babys. The first one Marlee is the newest Hellhound I mean addition. SHe is a pistol to say the least. Taz is the other one they have who is a spastic yet loveable pooch. I didnt have any more photos so Im gonna trust she will add more to it herself (PLEASE)

SO I hope she likes this. I spent alot of time on it and went everywhere looking for embelishments lol some came from oklahoma some from washington so hey! I hope she likes :)

I will show more of the other things I did later but I gotta go wrap more presents. I am charging the battery in Bella's portable dvd player now getting it ready to go. I have wrapped the V tech V smile and gym mat (that is gonna be fun) and her giggle faces mask. She is getting the BELLA BALLERINA dance studio thing too.. SO I can see it now we are gonna be dancin machines here soon! (Maybe it will make me lose a few pounds the steroids are putting them on quick!

OK back to wrapping I mean scrapping OH GOSH I have both yet to do ::sigh:: see ya later guys!

HI YALL! I have been a busy busy scrapper getting gifts ready. I FINALLY feel human again wheewwweww which left me alot to get done. My scrap room looks like a scrappin bomb went off. I am almost done with my gift though (yahoo!) We will be heading to Mississippi soon with gifts in tow. I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays and remembering to stop for a moment and be thankful for your health and your family. ALSO DON'T FORGET THE REASON FOR THE SEASON. This is a time of gratitude as well that God sent His son. As it says on our church's sign outside..... REMEMBER..... IF there had been no Christmas. There would be no EASTER.

Bella gets an early Christmas Gift.

Uncle WIndale and Aunt Karen sent Bella's Christmas gift with My mom. They wanted her to go on and open it since they dont know when they will get to come home for christmas .. probably after christmas. so these are the photos It was so funny. SHE LOVED IT! IT lights up, plays the princess's theme songs, plays phrases from the movies, does fireworks (well the sounds and then the whole castle lights up) and has all the characters. SHe is so quiet right now I am in shock. She said that is her bestest present evugh. haha here are some photosThe last two is where she called uncle windale to tell him thank you. She is SHOWING HIM what all it will do through the phone (she thinks) I havent seen her since she opened it. I needed this a week ago hahaahaha. THANK YOU UNCLE WINDALE AND AUNT KAREN VERY MUCH!

NOPE IM not dead yet.

Im sure you all are very glad to hear that :) Thought I was a goner there briefly but well nope Im like a stubborn weed that you just can't kill. The burr under your saddle that you can't seem to find. ahhhh ITS good to be alive. I have actually had some exciting news today.

One.. I got asked to be on the design team for IMAGINE CREATE SCRAP and I am so excited! TWO I got my pre issue of the latest stampin, stationery and scrapbooking magazine and I have a page and a half spread in it. I knew I had several projects but I had no clue a whole page. That rocks esp since it was my moms birthday present that they put on the entire page. I also have another half pager with a older project I did with a coin folder and then my FAVORITE layout of Bella bug with winnies walls. IM so excited! Told my hubby I am gonna make him famous one way or another. Now his purty face is in print. Bella on the other hand thinks her picture should be in EVERY magazine. I see alot of people I know in there as well. A fellow Mobile resident Holly McLellan (way to go Holly) she is in there all the time, she rocks with the scrappin skillz. Another alabama friend of mine LaTonya Boike who is also on Imagine create Scrap DT. (you go girl) and KARI ROACH my dear friend we are on SCRAP THAT MOMENT design team together. Kari has the CUTEST page in there about her son and his sled. I was grinning when I saw it IM so happy we are in there together girl! There are plenty others as well, if I listed them all well, Id be here all night. SO don't mean to hurt feelin's.

My mom is here for a few days to help out with Bella. John has to go back to work and well I still am runnin fever and taking this stupid medicine that makes me wobbly OK more than wobbly so I was scared to be here by myself better yet chase Bella.I hate taking all this stuff but if the cure don't kill ya huh! It is amazing this hand full of crapp I have to take 3 times a day knows where to go and what to do. BUT anyway I got mom to come chase her I mean watch her. Yall know from recent posts Johns company got bought out by another company and they are revamping everything so he is taking a test right now. He seemed kinda nervous I dunno why. He is really smart and the NUMBER ONE SALES REP IN THE SOUTH continuously (wheheeweeww thank you god for commissions) so I will toot his horn a little Im so proud of him. MY sweet hubby went by Its Not just scrap (a local scrap book store in a neighboring town) today and got some scrapbook paper I needed. It is beautiful. It is by the BE BLESSED line. If you havent seen this paper. Check out in my previous post the page where bella is playing with the mickey mouse ice skater thing on the shelf. (blacka nd white with a hint of color photo) and it has all the stuff I outlined with the sakura stardust pen (WHICH IS THE most awesome sponsor and That December sponsor at SCRAP THAT MOMENT (how cool is that) he took my layout in and said I need 2 of this and 2 of this. and walked out with NOTHING else. My mouth is on the floor. Id have spent a hundred or so easy. BUT I love that line of paper too. Perfect for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas what is on everyones list? scrappy stuff? I already know what hubby is getting and well I know what he is getting me.. my island in my scrap room finished and the floor finished. It is gonna rock so much. Now my pals can all come scrap and not sit on top of each other lol I know katrina will be VERY HAPPY when its done.
Christmas is what 2 weeks away (as I look at the projects that are lying unfinished laughing at me) and my mom comes in bearing gifts Im shaking my head. I know I know its her last chance at a grand child my brother sure isnt having any more and well my baby making equipment is gone so let her spoil her. Well that is enough from me tonight. I havent checked in in a while so thought Id catch you up. Thanks for al the continued prayers. SOME DAY I will have 2 fully functional kidneys and can actually be a part of the outside of my house world again. Until then... TAH TAH

WELL IT'S Thursday.. Ok well ALMOST... BUT IM too excited so Im gonna go ahead and upload my Sakura projects. I AM SO IN LOVE with their pens and markers. They are the most awesome! I have never liked pens and markers because well . I have a crappy handwriting. BUT THESE PENS are so easy to write with. I LOVE THEM. THE markers are fat so I can hold them easily. THey glide when they hit the paper. LOVE THEM. SO here are my projects for today for THAT SPONSOR sakura on Scrap That Moment.


THe TRUE GIFTS OF CHRISTMAS. I used the stardust silver gelly roll pens, the stardust gold gelly roll pens, and then the Glaze pens to color in the metal embelishments. IT is hard to see but I went over the entire design with the silver stardust pen in the back ground. You can click on it to make it bigger.




On THREE WANNABE. I used the Permapaque pens to color the chipboard letters. I used the souffle to make the dots and stitches and fill in and outline the flowers.



I used the stardust Gelly roll in silver and in blue all over the Nana's Kiss layout. It is hard to see but I colored in the paisleys of the basic grey paper as well. You can click on the images and it will enlarge them.






PRETTY CUTE: I used the permapaque pens to color the chipboard and the acryllic letters. The souffle pens to color the back ground paper. The soufle and the glaze pens to color the outlines and insides of the flowers. Again you can click on the images to make them larger.





and Finally.. the lamp I made. THe base is an antique bottle that we found at my grandmas I cleaned up and used the Stardust gelly roll pens, Glaze pens, and the permapaque markers on. The lamp shade I used the permapaque markers, the permapaque opaque markers, and then the Stardust pens (I used the markers on the stamps of the flourishes, stamped the shade, then went over it with the gold stardust pen) you can click on it so you can see the detail. It really sparkles in real life. Then there is the full view of the lamp.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.....

We pulled out the Christmas tree and all the decorations. It is finally starting to feel like Christmas now! I have been scrapping all weekend long. My friend Katrina came over and we got alot of pages done. Her little girls played with Bella a while today they were sooo cute! I couldn't believe all the yummy stuff that was in my box. This is the most awesome Design team I have ever worked for! ALso BLogger is being a butt head today and wont let me upload images again for some reason. John said its probly full.. as IF THE INTERNET CAN FILL UP.. but WHO KNOWS. Bella has been quite a handfull lately and I think I need to go remind her THIS DUDE IS SUPPOSED TO BRING HER PRESENTS if she is good... but she says ITS OK MY NANA WILL GET IT FOR ME (IM rolling my eyes here yall) SHe is in that age between 3 and 4 that is from HELL! WHere they wanna be a big kid so bad but they still wanna be a little kid too and you rock them and cuddle them but they want their independence and to see just HOW FAR THEY CAN PUSH YOU TILL YOUR EYES POP OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND ROLL AROUND ON THE FLOOR. Yep that would be it...
So far I think she owes Santa presents she has been so bad lately. BUT the breathing treatments and being sick IM SURE have NOTHING to do with it ::SIGH:: this too shall pass. ALL PART OF THE FUN OF GROWING UP.

Good news/bad News

Well I wasnt gonna post this today being it was our anniversary and all but Im about to go to bed so.. I figured get it over with.
Went to the dr today did get my flu shot and pneumonia shot which was good they let me have it. BUT bad news .. Protein in my urine.... and if any of you that have lupus or know anything about lupus you know what that means... ITSSS baaaackkk well I guess it never really left but I thought the kidney thing was over. Scheduling more tests more crapp for after the first of the year.. don't wanna ruin the holidays. IF I go on the treatments now it could ruin the holidays for all of us.. especially Bella. I knew something was not right I had not been feeling well and so tired and just BLAH... can't get enough sleep which is SOOOOO not like me. But anyway... I know I didn't call everyone like I said I would and tell them what the dr said. Today was our anniversary and kinda wanted to not think about it. Be happy for a bit. Not that this is bad. Just means all the stuff isnt working and I have to go back on yucky medications and stuff again. Its a fact of life with living with lupus. More people have kidney involvment than any other organ.. it is the leading cause of transplant in lupus patients. As I get older it is just one of those things we will have to face reality and deal with as it comes. I thank God every day I was able to have Bella and I thank God I have such a wonderful husband that loves and supports me through sickness and in health. When most men would have headed for the hills he dug his heels in and wouldnt let me give up and Im today, on our anniversary, SO thankful to him and my family for all they do for me. Love you guys if I havnt told you lately. Thank you to my friends that always pray for us as well! You guys rock!
THIS IS NOT a bad thing not a sad thing... Not a death sentence and not a major cause for worry... , just a setback that well, we kind figured would happen. We will get more details in the coming weeks.. will take a while to get back in to the nephrology dept but my dr is optomistic they will see me quickly with me having been in before. He has a call in and they are to call me with my apts. Just gotta go back on the meds I hate and that make me all fat and gross but hey.. fat is better than the alternative huh.... Id rather be fat and with my hubby and little girl than skinny and the alternative.
A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO JACI I totally forgot your birthday this past weekend and Im sorry You have full permission to beat me with wet noodles. haha. Happy birthday girly I hope you had a great day.

Happy Anniversary

Today is John's and My anniversary. 9 years we have been together. Seems like yesterday. Hard to believe 9 years has gone by. We have come a long way in those 9 years. Had some milestones and made it through some sad and some trying times.. together. WE have a beautiful daughter and alot of fun all of us together. How will we celebrate? Probably go to our favorite resteraunt and hang out at home. Bella is still running fever (we go back to the dr thursday is first appt avail grrr) and I have dr appts today too. Bella says she isnt sure what anniversary is but "can we have elmo cake?"

So, Thank you honey for 9 wonderful years, for a beautiful little girl and many elmo cakes in our future.
I love you and will today and tomorrow and forever.

Black Friday

OK so we got up at WAY TOOO EARLY O CLOCK... and went shopping with the OTHER TEN MILLION people in mobile... BUT IM Happy to say IM ALMOST FINISHED!!! I just have to finish making the things I gotta make and pick up a couple more store bought things. Santa is packin up his sleigh people! ALl I can say is it will be a 12 dancing princess Christmas this year. Along with the year of electronics. I AM SO HAPPY I got online last night at midnight and got that portable dvd player and V smile thingy cuz otherwise... Id be still looking and spending ALOT more money. I really was fortunate to get some AWESOME deals today. I can save more money buying stuff than anyone I know (according to John Jones) The scrapbook store was on my list as well haha! I GOT MY CROP A DILE! IF YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE ONE OF THESE omg they are sooo rockin I mean they click so easily through stuff it is just amazing.. How did I live without that thing!!!! THe other coolest thing ever are the Paint Dabbers IM totally in love and when they are half off I AM IN HEAVEN. I loaded up on the ones I KNEW i didnt have and then I will get the rest as I can... IM wondering where I can find those bottles empty to dump my mm paints in... hmmm In quiring minds wanna know lol

NOW to figure out how to get this in the house where hubby and mini me cant see it... IM gonna be wrapping it tomorrow fast so they dont see it :)

I LOVE this picture of her being silly. I have Adobe Photo shop cs~2 so I used it to reverse color in the photo antique then add just a little center color back. so you get THAt exuberant happy feel when looking at it.

TODAY'S STM BLOG CHALLENGE IS: DId you ever have a job that was just FUN and what was it.

MAN I HAVE TO TELL YOU I HAD ONE OF THE MOST FUN JOBS I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE


when I was 21 years old.

I worked at a western store. OH MY GOSH. Every time there was a rodeo in town..... wrangler butts everywhere. ALl the cowboys shopped with us cuz we were just about the only western store in town. GOt to meet a few celebrities as well. WE had a blast! we had a young crew I think the oldest was 25 so we were always clowning. OUR boss was a total goob (still is) and we had so much fun raggin on him and sneaking around.
ONe time our manager was off the entire day working on some stuff for us so to have this massive party that night and the big boss never had a clue. He thought he was in the stock room all day cuz we took a cowboy hat and some boots and put behind a screen. ONe of us would run back and beat on the walls and drop boxes etc so it sounded like he was really working hard.

OF course the next day we all piled in and did what he was suposedly working on and got it knocked out so he wouldnt get busted and OH yeah IT WAS A STELLAR PARTY!!!! ONe of my best friends and room mate both worked together and we always were playing pranks. WE all would hit the rodeos and the club on thursday nights and everyone would look to see what we were wearing .. the next day we would sell out of that outfit IT was hysterical. We used to joke we could wear kroger sacks and the next day there would be a rush on them. SO FUNNY how just cuz you worked somewhere everyone had to have what you were wearing..... if they only knew rofl. But anyway that was a blast I have so many memories ... playing football in the parking long cuz we all had to work on a holiday and NO ONE was open but us (he was such a weirdo) so we all went outside and played football. ONe time we shot bow and arrows in the store and the manager missed a pair of full quill ostrich ropers by like millimeters I think he crapped himself, but he wouldnt admit it (those boots sold for 800 bucks) The arrow was sitting there swaying in the door frame and we all just sank. We ran to the back to find some cauking to fill the hole and couldnt find any so, we used toothpaste. THe big boss kept saying Yall smell something like MINT and we would all crack up laughing. I didnt make much money cuz well we were all minimuim wagers but we had so much fun and are still friends to this day. I will never forget those days. I made enough money to pay my part of the rent and bills and that was it. we had like 6 girls living in that apartment so we could afford it. Man those were the days huh!

excitement comes with tears

Im so excited to say I have a publication coming up in an idea book. What makes it so exciting you ask? Its the first real page I have done on my dad's death. You all know the story... and know how hard it has been for me to start a book on it but that I want Bella to know the legacy behind him and how he died a hero. So for them to pick THIS page was huge for me. BUT, what really got me excited is well... That wasn't the page I submitted. I submitted a different page but all of you know my blog is attached to my signature so every email I send out... you get a link to my blog. WELL, this lady looked at my blog and asked me about this page. I told her I didn't know.. she asked me the story behind the page I told her. She asked to call me. So now It will be coming out in an idea book that will be released March 31st. The excitement of getting an idea book pub was overwhelming but I cried and cried because I dunno I guess just the fact of HOW hard that was for me. IT took me well 11 years to do a page and my first one... is gonna be in a book. Not a magazine that someone will throw away in a month or two.. but a book. ITs an idea book but I know I keep those for a long time. She told me how surprised I would be that if someone saw this page that is going through something difficult it may just inspire them to take the courage and face the pain and work through it by scrapping it. How can you say no to that?

the three letter word I hate most

so you wonder why I am up at 1:55 am? probably not.. Most of you know I would rather be up at night anyway. ONe because it is quiet. But, mainly cuz well the world is asleep and I can run around in my underwear un noticed, without hearing the screams of people saying "OMG IM BLIND NOW!" but then, that is another good plus. Don't cha think?
This is the one time that I dont hear that 3 letter word that I have grown to totally DETEST and wonder what the lord really used to do for enjoyment before I HAD BELLA. You know he is sitting up there eating popcorn with my dad going "watch this.. Your gonna LOVE this part" and I can envision them Hi^5 ing each other and sharing laughs.

But What is that, Nancy, You say? Wwhat 3 letter word can be that hideous that a root canal sounds better to you right now? hmmm Is there a word that is worse? Well if your a mommy you already know this and I shouldn't have to tell you and if your my mom you have already gone to pop some popcorn cuz this is one of THOSE moments you prayed when I WAS three years old would happen. TOuche' mom... BUt for all of you that are still wondering..Ill tell you.



ITS WHY. WHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHY Not to be confused with just the singular why cuz it never happens once? It is like when the ice machine gets stuck and you know there are 900 more pieces of ice about to land on your kitchen floor. yup these are the days OF WHY....

I try to remember the days before why came to live at our house. I can remember sitting in the floor with the small child, I call mine (some days) and thinking OH will she ever utter a word out of that mouth of hers? Wwhat will she say? What is she thinking (we now know it was WHY!!)What will she want to know? And to the lords amusement he said haha GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY.. as a teenager YOU THOUGHT you knew everything ... HERE IS YOUR TEST. Prove it!

You go to say the local Hobby lobby. Your looking for something in particular. Mommy? Can I have... (whatever she sees in front of her face) No baby. BUT WHY? Because you dont need that? but why? You say"why? "why what?" why mommy? I want it.
I know you want it, but you dont need it?
but WHYYYYY?
Why dont you need it??!! well cuz you have 900000000000 other things at home just like it that I trip over.

::Getting a little irritated:: I dunno bella maybe cuz YOu dont pick them up..

::more irritated::I dunno why you dont pick them UP!! Its NOT CUZ I havn't asked you to... I think we should have your hearing checked or maybe I am talking to myself...

so I think for a second.. 1. How come her part of the conversation ALWAYS consists of BUT and WHY? and 2. WHY (there is that word! again) am I explaining all this. SO FINALLY it happens. You know that moment. The one YOU SWORE would never happen.That moment when your eyes cross and you have to literally hold the buggy tighter to keep from injuring said kid, with every bit of glare and control you can muster up inside of you in your most official like "Mommy" Voice . That rather than birds chirping and harpsacords playing the theme song to Psycho should come over the intercom system... You scold out the NONE OTHER PHRASE... ( you already know what it is don't you? yup cuz you have kids and you have been there and are laughing your butt off cuz you have done the SAME THING probably in hobby lobby too huh!) YOU exclaim "BECAUSE I SAID SO!!!"
AMidst the thunder (which is really my father and the lord himself ROLLING in the clouds laughing their wings off) You see this soft pouty face with the ordacity to look shocked stare up at you as if you just murdered a puppy and softly with a voice so angelic she replies:
BUt.. WHY?



I think visiting hours here at the insane assylum are Wednesdays from 1 to 3 so please bring chocolate and more scrap stuff no sharp points they say... and when Bella has kids I ahve already appropriatly repayed her the curse of YOUR CHILD WILL SAY WHY more than you...
Betcha cant guess what her reply was! ::sigh::

STM BLOG CHALLENGE FOR MONDAY

Jozzie gave us a FUN blog challenge today. Hmmm which scrapbook item am I.....
IM probably patterned paper... You can do so much with it. IT is bright.. it is thick it is thin (kinda like me depending on if IM on steroids or not heehe) it is versatile it can be used to decorate a page or enhance a project. You can cut it and it and it looks even better. You can add things to it and dress it up or you can trim it down and make it blend in to the page. It comes in a variety of styles and colors it can be toned down with sand paper or it can be fancied up with bling. IT is a sturdy background to a page but is always noticed. It is reliable and always in style. It will enhance any project.

SO if you have been to the site Scrap that Moment, I am sure you have noticed that we have more than a couple of Jones' girls on that Design team. The Jones' girls have some major MAJOR happnin's up our sleeves cuz well.. when you have more than one Jones girl on a design team.. THere is always major happnins haha. We have major mo jo and major action to share and we are all bustin at the seams to get it going. Usin' Your stash...

OK sorry I havn't posted. We all have looked like a nyquil commercial in the making around here.. coughing, sneezy, stuffy head, fever so I CAN WHINE AND COMPLAIN yeah that is all of us.. we are in competition to see who is the most pitiful... I won yesterday by default but have company today soooooo, today John is kickin my tail! Bella is oblivious. HOW can kids feel crummy, run fever and still hang from a ceiling fan in such perfect form is Beyond me and John and I just stare at each other like .. she will fall in a minute.. stick a pillow under her or something.. cuz I have no energy to get her down maybe it will just wear her out or something.... its like benadryl is kid crack...whats up with that anyway.. but it is the only thing that dries up her yuck nose. OH well.

WE HAVE to get over this quick we are supposed to go to the playgroup day on Tuesday and it will be so much fun I WANNA GOOO! So we are focused and are soakin up healing vibes! SEE this is what happens when I go to wal mart!!!!

SO who has just a bunch of paper and stuff YOU JUST HAD TO HAVE it was the greatest thing ever and well errr you still havn't used it yet? :: im raising my hand high:: well just cuz of this we started the "use up your stash challenge" at Scrap that moment. We are using up some of the stuff we have so we can buy more! Sounds logical to me! John told me I had to have a big old dent in this stuff I have in here so I can get the new stuff that I am dying to get.. NO fun is he. DOESN'T HE KNOW that is all part of it! ::SIGH::

SOOoooo We are using up some of our older lines ... keep in mind it is still gorgeous stuff just not the NEWEST fresh on the market. SO WHO wants to try this with us? You never know You just may win a rak for your participation! The rak monster shows up in the craziest places around here!

Treehouse Memories THAT SPONSOR

But this is very very important.
As you all know from my previous posts. The toddler teacher at Bella's school that we here have come to know and love has cancer ... Everywhere pretty much. IT isnt good. Her platlet count dropped under 500 and they are doing transfusions they got it up to 6000 but she is still losing alot of blood. The cancer is absorbing the chemo so it is not really working. They are going to try one more time to do a transfusion and if that doesnt work..
they are running out of things they can do. SO Im asking everyone PLEASE pray. She has a 5 almost 6 month old daughter (claudia) and her husband and her mom that love her so much. SH ehas lots of friends also and everyone is banding together tonight in prayer. I ask you to please say a prayer for her and her family. Thank you all so very much.

Been Busy busy! FIrst off I wanna thank the team at Imagine Create Scrap for picking my layout as the winner of the SEI layout contest! I am so excited and thank you all so very much!

I couldn't post on my blog yesterday I tried to upload the photos from Bella's first play group but it wouldn't let me. SHe had so much fun. Look at what SHE DROVE... she rode this over and over I was in shock after the HUGE dramatic episode with the Barbie Jeep and we ended up returning it cuz she kept calling it the "bad Jeep" and "scary Jeep" SO obviously she is over that now.

SHe also loved playing the video games and riding the whale, and playing on the big playground. SHe had a great time to say the least and met some wonderful new friends.

Toots and a flood

I got a toot whehewhehew I made the cover of Scrappin Trends E magazine whehewhew IM so excited. My pal Kari Roach is on there too! Her's is the one of the gingerbread house. VERY CUTE! SO EXCITING! CHECK IT OUT! SOme of my other pals are in there too. Jeanne and Jaci and some other familiar faces. MAJOR EYE CANDY in that ezine Im telling you! Just click on the link (the word scrappin trends above) and then scroll down ... recognize the cutey in the top left corner? She is holdin' a lil pumkin. I also have another page in there of Bella with the baby pot bellied pigs at the pumpkin patch. (she didnt appreciate them oinking at her) You can d/l the Ezine to your computer its a huge file but SOOO WORTH IT.

ALso got my projects back from creative concepts scrappin stampin and stationery magazine today. I have 3 projects coming up in it too. SO it is pretty exciting right now.
It wont be out until Jan 1st and you can check itout at your local Hobby Lobby.

THis week at Scrap That Moment That design team will be flooding the gallery with designs from Treehouse Memories. Their paper is amazing! forgive my blog I had a gremlin...

A little 3 foot tall blonde blue eyed gremlin that deleted my blog for me. YES I was fit to be tied but rescued most of it and revised some but cannot get my slider to go back at the very top like it was so it is on the side now :( That is ok. All is forgiven although I cried for 20 minutes and threatened to send her off to Aunt Jeanne for a week or two (HAHAHA) she would love that.. that is no punishment.

I GOT some WONDERFUL NEWS ON KATHY!!!! SHe went to her new dr. THEY SAID IT IS TREATABLE!!! Her chances are still not that great but AT least there IS A TREATMENT and hope. SO thank you all for your prayers. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue them. She started chemotherapy yesterday and will continue to do so at providence. I told her about a friend of mine telling me about going to Texas to the cancer center but she has hope for here if she isnt seeing any improvement soon she said it may be an option. SO KEEP THOSE PRAYERS going MAN ISNT GOD WONDERFUL! SO amazing the things he can do. ALSO THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH for the pages yall have been doing. ABSOLUTLY GORGEOUS pages I have gotten and some sweet cards for her as well. I now have 11 pages to take to her. (We didn't get to take them today but we will be taking them by tomorrow to the church so Mrs. Sally can take them to her this weekend) Bella has a yuck nose so we stayed in today and honestly my joints are screaming as well with the temperature drops.

Our neighbors David and Diane Carter are coming over for dinner tonight. They got a pork loin from some benefit or something and asked if we would like to eat with them so we are making the fixins and we were going there but we decided to have it here instead. Here is a SWEET SWEET photo of them with Miss Gremlin Britches... Bella . They are the sweetest people ever we just love them to pieces and Thank God he sent us to be their neighbors. Well I must go finish the gravy. Priase God and tell him ThANK YOU for Kathy's wonderful news!
